Job Description

As one of the largest ship repair yards in the Caribbean with a large variety of ship repair services, the Curacao Dry-dock Company Inc. keeps striving to be the first choice in the Caribbean and South America’s Region. The company is seeking to attract qualified and enthusiastic local candidates who are interested to work in a dynamic and International environment for the following position.

Quality & Development Manager

The Quality & Development Manager facilitates an effective and efficient Quality Management System at CDM, and sets direction for all company actions and activities as they relate to the Quality Policy. He assures and is accountable that the Quality Management System is established, implemented, maintained, monitored, measured, improved and developed according to the requirements of the norm ISO 9001.

Responsibilities:

• Receives information, documents and instructions from and is accountable to the General Manager
• Is the Management Representative for Quality [MRQ] of the company
• Manages, coaches and guides the Quality & Development department
• Investigates, monitors, measures, reports findings and make proposals for improvement to the General Manager of all activities, procedures and processes within the company, both the primary and secondary processes
• Ensures to answer questions concerning quality assurance, development, procedures, products, services, activities and systems within the company
• Monitors the annual investment budget of the company
• Defines roles, responsibilities and authorities to ensure that quality management requirements are effectively established, implemented, maintained, monitored, measured, improved and developed according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008
• Defines together with the higher Management the Quality Policy and Company

Objectives

• Approves together with the General Manager the Quality Procedures
• Approves together with the Managers/Head of departments the work instructions and supporting documents

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO) or equivalent level
• Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Languages: English and Papiamento, Spanish and Dutch are a pre
• Naval repair and inspection experiences are an advantage
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Project programs
• Experience in making annual planning, budget estimating, budget monitoring and cost control
