Job Description

CUROIL NV is a dynamic company which is growing very fast internationally. In the daily operations, Curoil is responsible for the distribution, sales and marketing of petroleum products on the islands of Curacao and Bonaire. In order to strengthen our Purchase department in Curacao we are searching for a suitable candidate for the position of:

Purchase Officer


The purchase officer is responsible for ensuring that the company selects the most appropriate goods, equipment and services on the basis of price, quality, delivery times and services; arranges negotiations for cost effective deals with suppliers and gives advise with regard to bids. The Purchase Officer works closely with the Purchase team, internal departments and the Ware-house Keeper. The Purchase Officer reports directly to the Head Purchase.


– Liaison between suppliers, manufacturers and all relevant internal departments (Customers) requiring products and services.
– Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
– Requests and reviews requests for quotations and evaluates proposed suppliers.
– Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
– Produces Purchase Evaluation Committee (PEC) reports and conducts the follow up with all concerned.


– Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree of Procurement and Supply management or equivalent, with a technical affinity.
– Minimum of 2-5 years purchasing experience in a technical industry and in a purchase section.
– Demonstrated knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
– Affinity with company’s required products and services.
– Able to multiple task and prioritize in order to meet required deadlines.
– Ability to cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines.
– Excellent customer service principles and techniques.
– Integrity values.
– Excellent command of Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamentu both verbally and in writing.
