Job Description

GHL GRUPO HOTELES S.C.A recently signed a 10-year management agreement with the ownership of the Kura Hulanda properties. GHL Hoteles is an international multi-brand hotel chain with more than 55 properties within its portfolio and works with brands that include Sonesta Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotels, Sheraton, Novotel, Hilton garden Inn and others, as well as with its own brands.

In the coming months upgrading of both properties will take place to meet the high branding standards of GHL Hoteles in order to have both properties to be flagged Sonesta by summer of 2014 and renamed these to Sonesta Kura Hulanda Village & Spa and Sonesta Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club.

To guarantee that the culinary quality targets are met, we are currently looking for an:

Executive Chef

Main Tasks:

✓ Guarantee de quality of the food served, from the menu’s of our restaurants, during events activities etc., by complying with the quality standards established by the organization;
✓ Plan, supervise, control and coordinate all activities related to the Kitchen Department;
✓ Control the ordering and monitoring of needed products;
✓ Ensure that cost does not exceed budget;
✓ Plan and coordinate the tasks of the kitchen team members;
✓ In charge of creating the roster of the respective team members;
✓ Ensure compliance of established procedures, service standards in the Food & Beverage area;
✓ Responsible for creating and updating menu’s and controlling food cost;
✓ Ensure continued Training of staff.


✓ Professional Gastronomic Education
✓ Strong organizational and leadership skills
✓ Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamentu
✓ Solid know how of Food & Beverage in hotel industry
✓ Able to communicate effectively ( written and oral)
✓ Able to conduct organizational and administrative duties
✓ Is flexible and customer oriented
✓ Team Player
✓ Passionate about delivering high quality food with an eye for detail
